When the rain sets in

Winter arrives on June 1st. Mostly, in New Zealand we can get outside to walk, cycle, or run even in the winter, but if the heavy rain and wind set in for a few days (or snow if you are in the South) sometimes you have to come up with alternative options to keep fit.

You can dust off the rowing machine or indoor cycle machine that has been gathering dust in the spare room or garage. This, of course, is extra exercise dusting it off!

Depending on how the bad the weather is, and I myself, do not like driving in wet and windy conditions these days, you can head to local swimming pool or gym for a good workout.

But if you do not feel like opening the front door and it is definitely a stay at home day, then here are some links that may help you get sweaty in the privacy of your kitchen or lounge. You may have to draw the curtains depending on how close or nosey your neighbours may be!

The Bob and Brad video mentions a book called Dynamic Ageing by Katy Bowman – I will review it for next issue if I can.
